On Friday, the international athlete Alba Alonso Frey, visited the municipal offices of Tourism in El Charco.
The majorera, high level competitor, specialized in stand up paddle (SUP) was received by the councilor of Tourism Rosa Rodriguez.
The city council, through the Department of Tourism, sponsors the athlete who, with only three years competing at the highest international level, has established herself as one of the great references of the sport, especially after becoming world champion in sprint at the ISA World SUP Championship held in Denmark in 2024.
He trains regularly in his hometown, Puerto del Rosario, where he combines discipline, passion and connection with the sea to perform at his best in every competition.
In May 2025, he achieved an outstanding double victory in the Spanish Long Distance and Sprint Championships, which has secured him a place in the Spanish national team for the next World Championships, to be held in October in Abu Dhabi.
With an unstoppable progression, Alba is currently among the best athletes in the world in her discipline, proudly representing the Canary Islands and Spain in every international competition.
