– Nerves and many hours dedicated to the assembly of the new edition of the Insular Crafts Fair.
– Antigua is once again the venue and home of handicrafts next Thursday, May 1, through Sunday, May 5.
For months we have been working, but it is always in recent weeks when the organizational engine is heard more strongly, says the Councillor for Culture, Jonathan Peña, who has checked this Tuesday morning with the mayor of Antigua, Matias Peña, the assembly of boards, roofs, studs and cables that are shaping the nearly 200 craft stalls that star from 1 to 5 May, the thirty-sixth edition of the Island Craft Fair.
The mayor highlights the final effort that all the teams make, finalizing details and preparing the square, the nearby streets, setting up stalls, tents, stages, preparing network connections, and solving any problems that may arise to welcome the artisans from all the Canary Islands who visit us the first weekend of May as if it were their home.
Antigua, its square and streets, is confirmed as the site for an Insular Crafts Fair with regional character to cover trades and craftsmen from all over the archipelago, which also expands spaces with new tents for institutions, performances, catering and a larger area also dedicated to the food market with products collected and produced at kilometer zero.
The Organization of the Insular Crafts Fair, Antigua Town Hall and Collective Foundation Mafasca, coordinate the accommodation and meals for the participating artisans, also facilitating their travel, in order to bring comfort to your stay, and adds the mayor, in order that the work will rent them, we will condition parking areas for the convenience of the visits of neighbors from all over the island, as well as inform and facilitate travel from major tourist locations.
