The City Council of Puerto del Rosario reports on the progress of the refurbishment and improvement works in Andalucía street. This action, framed in the urban revitalization plan of Fabelo and Buenavista neighborhoods, aims to transform this space into a safer, more accessible and functional environment for all citizens.
The project contemplates a thorough renovation of the street, with special attention to improving pedestrian traffic by widening the sidewalks and eliminating architectural barriers.
In addition, the intervention places emphasis on optimizing lighting and visibility in order to generate safer urban spaces, especially from a gender perspective, in line with the approach of the new urban agenda. The aim is to eliminate shaded areas or nooks and crannies that may generate a feeling of insecurity, encouraging the use of public space by citizens and reactivating social activity.
The work also includes the renovation of supply networks and the replacement of street lighting with more efficient systems, thus reinforcing the municipal commitment to sustainability and the continuous improvement of urban infrastructures.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, stressed that “actions like this allow us to continue building a more livable, accessible and adapted to the real needs of the neighbors city. Our commitment to the neighborhoods is reflected in concrete investments that improve their day to day life.”
For her part, the Councilor for Works, Ana Hernandez, stressed that “improving accessibility has been a priority in this intervention, ensuring safe transit for people with reduced mobility, while lighting networks have been renewed with more efficient and sustainable systems, and supply infrastructures have been updated to provide better service.”
With this action, the City Council reaffirms its commitment to a more inclusive, sustainable and cohesive city, in line with the universal accessibility criteria set out in Order TMA/851/2021. It also reinforces the institutional commitment to the improvement of the urban environment, for the benefit of the welfare of neighbors and the promotion of local commercial activity.
