The project aims to create shaded areas for outdoor play and learning.
The City Council of Pájara, through the Department of Education, completes the installation of pre-stressed awnings in the outdoor classrooms for two-year-old students in the CEIP Morro Jable II.
The main purpose of this action is to improve the living conditions of the center and to protect the children from direct exposure to the sun, especially during the months of greatest solar intensity.
The intervention has involved an investment of more than 48,000 euros, charged to the current municipal budget, and responds to the commitment of the City Council with the continuous improvement of the educational infrastructure of the municipality.
The Councilor for Education, Ángeles Acosta, highlights the importance of this improvement and points out that it is a way of “responding to a real need of the center and the families”. She also adds that “this type of actions are essential in early stages of development, where the environment directly influences the welfare and educational experience of students.
For his part, the mayor of Pájara, Alejandro Jorge, emphasizes that “this was one of the commitments made by the Government Group with the students of this center, as our goal is to contribute to improving the quality of education through the modernization and adaptation of infrastructure”.
The installation of these awnings allows the creation of areas in the courtyards of the school’s classrooms, reducing direct exposure to the sun and favoring the development of outdoor activities in better conditions.
