The bases have been improved, prioritizing models that generate local employment, promote equity and collaborate with social entities.
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has opened the new call for applications for aid to promote recruitment and for the implementation of business initiatives on the island. In total, more than 1.4 million euros are allocated between both lines of aid, with own funds of the Cabildo and funding from the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN). “A much needed aid to enhance the growth of the business fabric majorero, while helping to reduce unemployment in Fuerteventura promoting recruitment, “says the president of the Cabildo, Lola Garcia.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion and Employment Promotion, Nuria Cabrera, explains that 797,000 euros are earmarked for aid to promote hiring, which allows beneficiaries to cover the salary costs of hired personnel, as well as the Social Security charges they must pay when hiring new personnel.
For its part, 637,364.65 euros are allocated to the line of grants for the implementation of business initiatives that are aimed at individuals, legal entities or groups thereof that promote business projects on the island of Fuerteventura.
Interested persons have 10 working days to submit their applications through the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura. All information about the call will be available at: https://www.cabildofuer.es/cabildo/atencion-al-ciudadano/ayudas-becas-y-subvenciones/promocion-economica/
This year, the call for aid has been improved with the modification of its bases to be able to extend them to more beneficiaries and adapt them to the reality of the majorero business network. Cabrera explains that the modification of the bases responds to two general demands raised by the beneficiaries. On the one hand, the registration period has been reduced, which extends access to aid. On the other hand, have been defined more clearly eligible categories and has been completely digitized the application process, thus streamlining its processing and carried out entirely through the Electronic Headquarters of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura.
Aid for the promotion of hiring has been adjusted to the current needs of the labor market and to the profiles of those requesting it. As for aid for the creation of new initiatives, greater weight is given to the characteristics of the project within the current social and economic context.
Special consideration is given to those proposals that detect new market niches, are committed to innovation, improve competitiveness and generate higher value-added employment. Compliance with sustainability criteria and the positive impact on social welfare are also considered. In this line, priority is given to models that foster local employment, promote equity and collaborate with social entities.
