The Department of Education grants, for the first time, this line of subsidies to meet the demands of the educational community in relation to the attention of students with specific educational support needs (SEN).
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the area of Education, has granted almost 90,000 euros in scholarships to support students with special needs of the island. A new line of aid, as explained by the island president, Lola Garcia, “are granted for the first time by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and are essential to meet the needs and demands of the educational community in relation to the care of students with specific educational support needs (NEAE) arising from disability”.
The Minister of Education, Adargoma Hernández, points out that “the objective is to financially support the educational centers so that they can intervene and attend to the needs required by the students”.
In this way, Hernández continues, the aid is aimed at acquiring material to optimize learning or to pay for services for the proper schooling of students, as well as extracurricular activities, transportation and access to the center, among others.
Within the policy of educational subsidies of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, continues Hernandez, “to these aids is added the call for generic subsidies that are aimed at supporting educational projects promoted by schools, associations and federations of parents, whose deadline for applications ended this July 11. The beneficiaries will receive grants of up to 4,000 euros per proposal.
