The City Council of Tuineje, through the Department of Sports, organizes the seventh edition of the Milla Tarajalejo, to be held next Thursday, May 9 at 18:00 hours on the promenade of this coastal town. This urban test, consolidated in the municipal sports calendar, invites athletes of all ages to enjoy a day of outdoor athletics.
The urban mile is a form of athletics in which competitors must run a distance of 1,609 meters in the shortest possible time. Unlike other longer distances, the mile is characterized by its intensity and dynamism, and on this occasion it will take place within the urban area, next to the sea.

The Councillor for Sports, Dulce García, said: “The Tarajalejo Mile is not just a competition, but a great celebration of sport. We want neighbors, families and visitors are encouraged to participate or enjoy the atmosphere. This event reflects our commitment to the promotion of physical activity and healthy coexistence”.
For her part, the mayor of Tuineje, Candelaria Umpiérrez, said: “From the City Council we continue to support events that promote grassroots sport and also have a positive impact on the local social and economic fabric. The Tarajalejo Mile is an example of how sport can be an engine for development and cohesion”.
Registration is open at www.cronolinecanarias.com, and a large number of local and visiting runners are expected to participate.
