With an award budget of 326,865 euros and an estimated construction duration of seven months, the remodeling will allow this space, of vital importance to the community, to be adapted to the needs of the municipality.
The City Council of Puerto del Rosario has launched the project for the comprehensive remodeling of the Municipal Library, a strategic action that goes beyond a simple architectural reform: it represents a firm commitment to culture as an engine of social development, inclusion and collective welfare.
The project contemplates the improvement of the accessibility, comfort and energy efficiency conditions of the municipal building located between Santo Tomás de Aquino, Ramiro de Maeztu, Sagrado Corazón and the pedestrian Luis Vives streets. With an award budget of 326,865 euros and an estimated duration of seven months, the remodeling will allow this space, of vital importance for the community, to be adapted to the needs of the municipality.
The planned intervention will solve accessibility and comfort problems, providing the building with the appropriate conditions so that all citizens can enjoy it on equal terms.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, stressed that “betting on culture is betting on the soul of a city. With this remodeling, we not only guarantee universal access to an essential public space, but also strengthen a meeting point where thought, creativity and coexistence flourish”.
For his part, the Councilman of Culture, Juan Manuel Verdugo, said that “the Municipal Library is a place where stories are woven, horizons are expanded and citizenship is built. To renew it is to renew our commitment to an accessible, lively and transformative culture. We want all our neighbors to find here a welcoming, modern space that meets their concerns”.
With this action, the City Council reinforces its vision of culture as a fundamental right and as a key tool for social cohesion. The Municipal Library will not only be a more comfortable and functional space, but a true cultural epicenter, open, inclusive and dynamic.
