Puerto del Rosario becomes the only municipality in Fuerteventura to join the Corresponsable Plan, receiving a grant of 000 euros, promoting family reconciliation.
The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, in collaboration with the Federación Insular Majorera de Padres, Madres y Alumnado (FIMAPA), has signed an agreement for the implementation of the project “Conciliación Corresponsables 2025”, within the framework of the Plan Corresponsables, promoted by the Ministry of Equality through the Secretary of State for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women.
Thanks to this agreement, the municipality becomes the only one in Fuerteventura to benefit from this state grant, receiving funding of 100,000 euros aimed at promoting the reconciliation of personal, family and work life of families.
The main objective of the Corresponsables Plan, launched in 2021, is to consolidate the right to care in Spain from a gender equality perspective, in accordance with Article 44 of Organic Law 3/2007, of March 22. Through this program, the creation of care services for minors up to 16 years of age is promoted, while at the same time fostering quality employment in the care sector.
The project “Conciliación Corresponsables 2025” includes a wide range of activities aimed at children between 3 and 16 years old in public and private spaces in the municipality, including summer camps, early and late reception services organized by the AMPAs of Puerto del Rosario, as well as educational leisure activities on weekends.
The “Los Baifitos” camp will be one of the main initiatives of this project. It will run from June 30 to August 8, hosting 40 children per week and reaching a total of 240 participants over six weeks. The registration period opens on Tuesday, April 29, and will remain available until full capacity is reached for each week.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, has underlined the importance of this initiative: “this project reflects our firm commitment to equality and social welfare, offering families real alternatives to reconcile their work and personal life in the summer period”.
For her part, the Councilor for Equality, Tacoremi Gutiérrez, highlighted:
“We want to generate safe, playful and formative spaces for children and youth, alleviating the burden of care that has historically fallen unequally on women.”
Finally, the president of FIMAPA, Grimanesa González, expressed her satisfaction with the agreement reached: “from FIMAPA we celebrate being part of this necessary project, which will allow many children from Puerto del Rosario to live a summer of learning, sports and fun while their families have a solid and committed support network”.
With the implementation of the project “Conciliación Corresponsables 2025”, Puerto del Rosario reaffirms its leadership in the commitment to public policies of reconciliation, equality and child welfare, consolidating itself as a municipality of reference in the progress towards a fairer and more inclusive society.
