On the morning of Friday, April 4, the City Council of Puerto del Rosario has signed the act of commencement of work for the implementation of the project of paving sidewalks, improving accessibility and renovation, expansion and installation of basic services in Andalusia Street.

This action includes the comprehensive renovation of sidewalks and pedestrian walkways, with the aim of ensuring greater safety and comfort for pedestrians, eliminating architectural barriers and optimizing the urban environment for all people. The project is part of the council’s commitment to a more accessible, friendly and people-friendly city.

During the signing of the groundbreaking ceremony, the mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, emphasized that “these types of actions not only improve the infrastructure of our city, but also reflect our firm commitment to build a modern, accessible and safe capital for all our neighbors”.

For her part, the Councilor for Urban Planning, Ana Hernandez, valued the work as “another step in the urban renewal plan that we have been developing, prioritizing the adequacy of public spaces and improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods”.

Likewise, the Councilor for Accessibility and Mobility, Toñi Fernández, stressed that “acting on public space with universal accessibility criteria is not only a legal obligation, but an ethical duty. This work will allow anyone, regardless of their mobility, to move safely and independently through Andalucía Street”.

The City Council will continue to work so that actions such as this one progressively reach all the neighborhoods of the municipality, strengthening a vision of an inclusive and cohesive city.
