During the meeting, a new Erasmus+ project was presented, which will offer young people from the municipality a training experience through an Interrail trip through Europe.
The City Council of Pájara hosted the intentional meeting PoderTIC, held this past weekend, which turned the municipality into a meeting point for the European debate on the challenges of digital use in the mental health of youth.
During the forum, experts, technicians and young people from Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Germany and Portugal participated in round tables, workshops, exchanges of good practices and spaces for intergenerational dialogue. In addition, a new Erasmus+ project was officially presented, through which several young people from the municipality will soon make an Interrail trip through Europe, with training activities and international coexistence.
The Councilor for Youth, Juan José Viera, stressed the importance of young people in the municipality to actively participate in such initiatives. “PoderTic has shown that Pájara can be a benchmark in the promotion of youth policies connected with the great contemporary challenges,” he added.
The activities took place at the School of Hotel and Tourism Residence of Pájara, in Esquinzo, and the Youth House of Morro Jable. The closing ceremony, in Puerto del Rosario, was attended by the Director General of Mental Health and Addictions of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Gómez-Pamo Guerra del Río.
PoderTIC is part of a European cooperation initiative that is committed to critical reflection and the active involvement of young people in the construction of a balanced and conscious use of digital technologies. The City Council stresses the importance of creating spaces that promote dialogue between young people, professionals and public officials.
