The City Council presents a diverse program from June 25 to July 2, with traditional, cultural and religious activities.
The City Council of Pájara, through the Department of Festivities, presents the program for the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Regla, which will take place from June 25 to July 2 in the town of Pájara. The program includes a wide variety of cultural, religious and festive events aimed at all audiences, with proposals ranging from musical performances, tournaments and children’s ginkana, to popular market, contests, open-air dances and many other activities.
The councilman of Festivities, Juan José Viera, stresses the value of these celebrations for the municipality. “They are a celebration of our identity, our roots and our people”. In addition, he says that “we have designed a program designed for all residents and visitors, with proposals ranging from the most traditional to the most current”. The councilman also wanted to thank especially the involvement of the festival committee, “which makes it possible, year after year, that these festivities are a real success”.
Among the most outstanding activities is the “Fiesta de Antaño”, which will take place on Saturday, June 28. On this day, the population is invited to attend in attire inspired by past decades to enjoy a unique atmosphere. “It is an opportunity to travel back in time through music, style and conviviality,” adds the councilman.
On Sunday, June 29 will take place the III Truck Show, which, although it reaches its third edition, is held for the first time in the town of Pájara in the framework of these festivities. This event has gained great popularity on the island for its originality and attractiveness, and is expected to bring together many attendees. For its part, on Tuesday, July 1, starting at 6:00 pm, the traditional pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of Regla will be held.
On Wednesday, July 2, the Solemn Eucharist will take place at 12:00 h, with the participation of La Coral de Arrecife. In the afternoon, at 20:00 h, will begin the procession through the streets of the village, accompanied by the Municipal Band of Pájara. As a finale, at 21:00 h, an emotional recognition will be given to the group of elderly women of the municipality. “We want to pay tribute to our older women, true pillars of our history and example of dedication and work,” concludes the councilman.
The City Council of Pájara invites all citizens to actively participate in these festivities, hoping that they enjoy each of the scheduled activities.
