More than 200 neighbors participate in the Pilgrimage of Triquivijate
– Colorful Pilgrimage for the Fiestas of Triquivijate in which eight floats and 200 pilgrims participated.
– The group Mejor con Copas kicks off the weekend’s concerts and open-air dances.
The Fiestas in Honor of San Isidro Labrador and Santa Maria de La Cabeza, which are celebrated until Thursday May 15 in Triquivijate, celebrated this weekend the Pilgrimage with 200 attendees and eight floats flying flowers and banners, which were received in the main square, Plaza Maca, the teacher.
The councilman of Festivities, Pedro Armas, congratulates the Festivities Commission for being involved in every detail and coordinating the tournaments, popular barbecues and games that are held during this week.
On Friday, May 9, the children’s party begins at 17:00 hours, followed by the musical performance by the group Mejor con Copas, which will be followed by the verbena with Gente Nueva and Nuevo Klan. The next Gran Verbena, says Councilman Pedro Armas, will be on Saturday night with Grupo Bomba y su Orquesta from Fuerteventura, followed by Grupo Arena from Gran Canaria and Orquesta Banda Nueva from Lanzarote.
The City Council of Antigua from the different departments organizes events and popular appointments in each town and locality, says the mayor, Matias Peña, and this weekend is the turn of Triquivijate celebrating its patron saint festivities until May 15, Main Day in which the religious function is held at 19:00 hours, followed by the Procession in Honor of Santa Maria de La Cabeza and San Isidro Labrador with performances by the rondalla of the Senior Center of Antigua, the parranda Juan Peña and the Duo de Voces, Antonio and Loly.
