The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Youth, launches the project “Youth in the compass of change”, an initiative that seeks to encourage the active participation of the youth of the municipality in the construction of solutions to their concerns, proposals and needs.
The presentation ceremony took place on Thursday morning, June 5th, at the Youth Center of Los Pozos, a reference space for young people in Puerto del Rosario. This project aims to create a space for dialogue, reflection and action in which youth voices are the protagonists of social, cultural and community change.
From now on, meetings will be held every Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Los Pozos Youth Center. In addition, the project will move to the different towns and neighborhoods of the municipality to approach more young people and collect their contributions. The specific times and places of these meetings will be announced through the social networks of Puerto Joven, the municipal youth platform.
The mayor, David de Vera, stressed “the importance of youth participation in issues that affect them, where they can analyze and propose different actions to be carried out, since they are the ones who best know the most priority needs and present their proposals”.
From the Department of Youth, Councilwoman Jenifer Perez, invites all young people in the municipality to join this collective process and be an active part in the transformation of their environment.
The presentation was attended by the Director General of Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands and representatives of the Adsis Foundation.
