The City Council of La Oliva, through the Department of Local Development, managed by Alexandra Martin, launches the program “Be creative and enterprising”. This initiative aims to promote entrepreneurship and facilitate access to employment for young people who are about to finish their studies. In this sense, creativity, teamwork, perseverance and social responsibility, among other essential values for this process, are encouraged.
In addition, the possibilities offered by the Job Search Platform for finding a job, the service for creating résumés and the PRODAE (Promotion of the Development of Economic Activity) for students who prefer self-employment are explained.
The program was presented in several educational centers in May, including IES Corralejo and IES La Oliva, where students from different levels and training cycles participated. Program resources were also offered to the gardening PFAE at the Biological Station.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, says: “Making available to our young people resources related to access to the world of work, the different job opportunities available according to what they want and need is undoubtedly an enriching approach for students in the municipality”.
For her part, the Councilor for Local Development, Alexandra Martín, stresses the importance of the initiative: “Knowledge of the functioning of the resources of the Local Development area must start from the educational stage. This is the best way for future workers to take advantage of the employment and entrepreneurship opportunities that the municipality makes available to them.”
The Consistory thus reinforces its commitment to the socioeconomic development of the municipality by promoting an active, enterprising and prepared youth.
