
The City Council of La Oliva, through the Department of Citizen Participation, led by Joana Perez Carreño together with the Department of Social Action and Citizen Participation of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, under the command of Victor Alonso, promotes the program ‘Active Family in Community’ from April to December 2025. The objective of this interdisciplinary project is to promote cooperative activities among families in the municipality. Thus, the ultimate goal is that through these dynamics aimed at children, adolescents and families in general, to promote healthy habits, community participation, street dynamization, coexistence and social relations, quality family time together, among others.
In this sense, participants will be able to learn not only about the projects of the area of citizen participation such as ‘Municipal Council of children, adolescents’, ‘La Oliva’s Senior Program in shape’ and other groups, but also to promote community values of respect, solidarity, tolerance and inclusion.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, says: “This program will generate the interaction of the families of our municipality with other local residents. Through a series of activities, a greater citizen participation will be achieved, making the coexistence among our local population not only more dynamic, but also to promote essential values for our current society such as tolerance, inclusion, respect and solidarity”.
For her part, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Joana Pérez Carreño, says: “This is an excellent opportunity for the population to get to know this important interdisciplinary project and participate in this dynamization. Community values, the dissemination of healthy habits in addition to education and awareness, will be the focal points of this approach that begins now in April and will last until December this year.”
