The City Council of La Oliva, through the Department of Local Development, directed by Alexandra Martin, organizes a new edition of the Course of Monitors / as Leisure and Free Time. Thus, the training will take place next May 2 and 3 at the Albergue de El Cohombrillo, in Lajares. This initiative is part of the actions for training and employment improvement and is aimed at unemployed people in the municipality of La Oliva over 16 years both young and adults. The objective is that those attending the training can not only improve their employability, but also acquire knowledge about the sector of educational leisure and socio-cultural animation.
Among the subjects to be covered in the course are training in leisure and free time, knowledge in first aid and risk prevention endorsed by the official certification of +GestionCanarias. In this sense, attending the course becomes a real gateway to the local labor market, with professional opportunities in different areas related to animation and work with groups.
This year, for the first time, the course will be developed in an intensive way, with a format of coexistence in the hostel during the two days, offering the students a practical and immersive experience. The training is completely free of charge, as it is fully funded by the Department of Local Development and includes training, accommodation and per diem.
Registration can be done in person on April 21 and 22 at the Mayor’s Office in Corralejo from 08:00 to 13:00 hours to collect the application form, course information and obtain a provisional registration number. Once this procedure is completed, the registration will be formalized with the delivery of the completed application form and the required documentation to formalize, thus, the number obtained initially and thus occupy the place. This step will be carried out from April 23 to 25 in person also at the Tenencia de Alcaldía.
Those who have the provisional registration number and cannot come to the area to formalize the registration may submit it by sending a message to the area’s e-mail address (desarrollolocal@laoliva.es) within the established deadlines. After this date, applications will not be accepted either in person or by e-mail.
