The City Council of La Oliva welcomes five students who begin their internships within the Practical Training Scholarship Program. This initiative promoted by the Department of Education of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, with Adargoma Hernandez in charge. These practices will run until August 31, 2025, allowing participants to gain experience in various municipal departments such as Social Services, Commerce, Tourism, Press as well as Works and Services.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, advises students to take advantage of this first work experience in contact with the area developed in their studies: “We are at the disposal of all of you for any questions, doubts or suggestions. This is a great opportunity to get to know closely the day-to-day tasks that are performed in a City Hall, thus offering them the possibility to work hand in hand with the staff of the Consistory.”
The Councilor for Personnel and Local Development, Alexandra Martín, in charge of welcoming the new interns, stresses the importance of offering training opportunities that connect academic education with the reality of work. According to Martín, “the City Council of La Oliva not only welcomes students, but is committed to their professional growth”, stressing that these internships allow young people to learn about the workings of the Administration and apply their knowledge in a real environment.
In addition to their daily work in the different municipal areas, the students will also receive complementary training in job orientation, digital competencies and skills for employment and entrepreneurship, in coordination with other public entities of the Island.
With this initiative, the Consistory reaffirms its commitment to the development of young talent and to training that favors job placement, reinforcing its commitment to a practical educational model connected to the needs of the labor market.
