The contest will be held on Saturday, May 10 as part of the “Puerto es Primavera” cultural event, which will include live music, children’s workshops, gastronomy and a craft market.

The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through its Department of Culture, has opened the registration period to participate in the IV Speed Painting Contest, one of the main activities of the event “Puerto es Primavera”, to be held on Saturday May 10 in the area around the back of the Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario and Primero de Mayo Street.
The contest, which is free of charge, is aimed at both established artists and new talents, and is divided into two categories: Children/Youth (from 6 to 17 years old) and Adults (from 18 years old). Exceptionally, young people between the ages of 12 and 17 may opt to participate in the adult category if they wish to do so and have the authorization of their legal guardian.
Those interested can now formalize their registration through the official website www.puertoescultura.es, where the complete rules of the contest are also available. The deadline will remain open until Friday, May 9 at 6:00 p.m., or until all available places are taken.
The theme of this edition will be “Landscapes of the Canary Islands”, and the works must be made entirely during the day of the event, in free format but with a minimum size of 50 x 50 cm. The organization will set up a point of information and sealing of supports from 10:30 am.
The prizes include a cash prize of 500, 250 and 150 euros for the first three winners in the adult category, as well as 5 runners-up prizes with diplomas. In the Children’s/Youth category, lots of artistic material valued between 100 and 25 euros will be awarded, thus recognizing the effort and creativity of the youngest participants.
In addition to the contest, “Puerto es Primavera” will offer throughout the day a cultural and family program that will include live musical performances, workshops and activities for children, a gastronomic area and a craft market with the presence of local creators and products.
With this proposal, the City Council of Puerto del Rosario seeks to promote creativity, bring art closer to the citizens and energize the urban center in a spring environment, participatory and accessible to all audiences.
