Given the recent publication of information referring to a complaint of alleged prevarication related to the implementation of the pedestrian path of Corralejo, Isaí Blanco wants to move to the public a calm and rigorous clarification of the facts.
Firstly, the municipal corporation recalls that the action was supported by favorable technical reports issued by qualified professionals, within a regulated administrative procedure. The project was drafted by municipal technicians, and the competent political bodies merely promoted its execution in accordance with these reports. As stipulated in the regulations in force, the political authorities do not intervene in the drafting of these documents, nor can they alter or condition them.
Likewise, the file was processed entirely from the Department of Urban Planning, an area with delegated powers by the municipal plenary, so that all actions have been carried out within the legal framework foreseen for these cases.
In relation to the ownership of the land, the City Council points out that the absence of updated cadastral data does not in itself imply an illegality, and that the mechanisms foreseen to guarantee the rights of the neighbors have been respected at all times, including the possibility of presenting allegations and appealing administrative acts. In fact, any person with a legitimate interest has been able to consult the file or contact the Consistory to obtain information.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, wanted to convey a message of tranquility to the neighbors: “We have full confidence in the work done from the technical and administrative areas. This City Council has always acted with transparency since we governed, seeking the general interest of the municipality. We will continue to collaborate with Justice as we have always done,” he said.
Finally, the City Council reaffirms its willingness to collaborate with the judicial authorities to clarify any aspect of the procedure, trusting that the rigorous analysis of the facts will demonstrate that there has been no irregular action or intent to favor individuals.
Corralejo’s pedestrian path is part of a broader strategy to improve accessibility, mobility and enjoyment of the coastline by residents and visitors, aligned with the urban sustainability objectives advocated by this corporation.
