The Cabildo of Fuerteventura develops conditioning work in all the ravines of the municipality of Betancuria. These actions are part of ‘Fuerteventura, beautiful by nature’, a program that includes actions throughout the island for the conservation and maintenance of natural environments and all those elements that make the island a unique place.
The work will be carried out over six months, covering 28 sections of ravine in the municipality, “improving the safety and drainage conditions of the ravines, in addition to their beautification”, said the president of the Cabildo, Lola García, during a visit to the works, accompanied by the Councilor for the Environment, Carlos Rodríguez, and the Councilor for Waste, Enrique Pérez.
Fuerteventura, beautiful by nature’ is a powerful program that runs from the service of Works and Machinery belonging to the Infrastructure area of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, directed by Blas Acosta.
In this case, the actions in the ravines of Betancuria have the collaboration of the Environment area and the Insular Water Council for the expediting of reports and supervision of the work. The cleaning of waste that is harmful to the ecosystem is carried out, as well as pruning work to improve the conditions of the ravines, avoiding risk factors such as flooding in times of rain.
