Fuerteventura 2025 Island Crafts Fair begins
– Nearly 200 craftsmen and craftswomen from more than 30 different trades.
– In addition to the attractions of the Insular Crafts Fair, there is a Food Market with more than 30 stalls of zero kilometers products.
– The mayor of Antigua and the president of the Mafasca Collective predict a fair with high attendance and numerous sales.
The Insular Crafts Fair begins with the traditional opening ribbon cutting by the mayor of Antigua, Matias Peña, the president of the Collective Foundation Mafasca, Nereida Brito and the president of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Lola Garcia, the island councilor of Crafts, Lolina Negrin and the Councillor for Culture, Jonathan Peña.
As every year to thank the presence of the 180 artisans and craftsmen who bring their best work and crafts of each of its Canary Islands, thank the assistance of all institutional representatives who by their presence support this important event of crafts for Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands, said at the opening the mayor of Antigua, Matias Peña, who congratulated in advance to the artisan Bianca Spartari, who this year receives the Insular Crafts Award.

The representatives of the Organization of the Insular Crafts Fair concluded, agreeing on a call for attention to the traditional crafts and the need to support the continuity and future of some trades that identify us and that we must support and promote with training and workshops that support the craftsman and generate new apprentices.
President Lola Garcia stressed the strong support this year of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura to the Island Craft Fair, doubling the amount that is entered in time to cover the costs of such an outstanding event, which brings together the best of each island, already fulfilling thirty-six editions, and concluded, as every year, congratulate the City of Antigua and the Collective Mafasca the excellent result, offering us a weekend of folklore, tradition and craftsmanship.
