The City Council of Puerto del Rosario intensifies the coordination work between its different areas on the occasion of the Macro-show “Sun and Moon”, one of the most important sporting events of the year, which will take place next Friday, June 21, coinciding with the arrival of the summer solstice.
The event will feature sports tournaments of different disciplines, regattas, the celebration of the VII Canary Islands Open Water Open Cup, boxing matches, art exhibitions, workshops, children’s entertainment, musical performances, and the installation of Violet Points as a space for attention and awareness against gender violence.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, stressed that “we are committed to ensure that ‘Sol y Luna’ is a show to live up to expectations and our citizenship. For this, we are coordinating in detail every element of the device, from the technical assembly to access control, always ensuring the safety and comfort of the audience.
For his part, the councilman of Sports, Luis Chacón, said that “the operational organization is being developed with an important planning, taking into account even the smallest detail. We have involved all the necessary departments to make the event a success and to develop in optimal conditions for both the public and the participants”.
The “Sol y Luna” event will offer a varied program that includes musical performances, visual shows and activities for all audiences, developed in various spaces of the municipality. A special security and emergency operation will be implemented, as well as reinforced cleaning services and traffic and public transport control measures.
