The City Council of La Oliva, through the Sports Department, led by Gleiber Carreño, together with the Caima Handball Club and the Cabildo Insular de Fuerteventura present the 12th edition of the Handball Technification Campus in Corralejo. Thus, more than 80 children from Fuerteventura, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and the peninsula will enjoy sports activities in the Municipal Pavilion José Perdomo Umpiérrez of the northern town, in a meeting in which they can enjoy the technification of this sport.
It should also be noted that the boys and girls will not only learn about handball, but will also have activities at the Municipal Nautical School and leisure time at the Acua Water Park in Corralejo. The campus will be attended by renowned coaches such as Carlos Herrera from Remudas Rocasa Gran Canaria, Juan Miguel Pérez from Zonzamas Lanzarote, Jose Ignacio Prades from the Spanish Handball National Team, Jota González from Benfica and Óscar Perales from Inclusport Valladolid.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco highlights the need to continue supporting this type of initiative: “The promotion of sporting activity is vital among children, especially in the summer season, because at the end of the school season, many children stop playing sports at this time of year. It should also be noted that this campus will allow them to continue developing their technique in this sport.”
For her part, the Councilor for Sports, Gleiber Carreño, emphasizes: “We continue with the promotion of sports for boys and girls from inside and outside our Island through the collaboration with the Caima Handball Club, which has achieved great influence in the sport with its 12th edition”.
In turn, the Councilor for Sports, Luiso González, said: “from the Cabildo it is important to support this type of initiatives that allow bringing technification to the island and continue promoting a sport like handball on the island”.
