On the morning of Thursday, July 17, Mayor David De Vera, the Councillor for Public Health, Rosa Rodriguez and Ana Belen Perez, as President of the Association against Metastatic Breast Cancer Fuerteventura, met in the municipal offices for the signing of an agreement that aims to regulate the granting of a nominative grant, to support the actions that the Association develops in the field of support and care for people with cancer, for a total amount of FIFTEEN THOUSAND EUROS (15,000.00 €),
The actions contemplated include:
- Personalized oncological wig service.
- Volunteer care.
- Support to patients in travel and per diem expenses.
- Incorporation of a social educator.
- Organization of awareness and visibility events.
The mayor, David de Vera, stated that “the city council supports and collaborates with entities that provide comprehensive care to people with cancer and their families, especially in vulnerable situations, as they carry out important social work”.
The Councilor for Public Health, Rosa Rodriguez, also thanked the Association for the work they do and confirmed that “the City Council has provided in its 2025 budget a nominative grant for this Association, to enable it to cover the costs of its activities”.
The president of the Association against Metastatic Breast Cancer Fuerteventura, Ana Belén Pérez, added that “this is a non-profit organization, which develops emotional, social and health care activities for people affected by cancer and their families” and thanked the collaboration of the council in the activities they develop.
