On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 22, the “Educate as a Family 2025 Program”, organized by the General Directorate for the Organization of Education, Inclusion and Innovation of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands in collaboration with the City Council of Puerto del Rosario, came to an end.
A training program aimed at families and teachers to deepen and reflect on emotion management, self-esteem, self-care, communication and conflict resolution.
The purpose of this initiative was to provide families with strategies and techniques from an integrative approach to reinforce emotional bonding, trust and skills that favor constructive conflict resolution and coping.
The program ended with a total of four workshops held in April in the Assembly Hall of the Centro Insular de Juventud in Puerto del Rosario, offering a toy library service.
The theme of the workshops that were held on the last day were:
- PRACTICES FOR BUILDING SELF-ESTEEM AND SELF-CARE
(16:00 a 18:00 h.)
- PRACTICES FOR IMPROVING COMMUNICATION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION
(18:30 to 20:30 h.)
The workshops were given by the speaker Cristina Bermúdez Arbelo, psychologist, actress and mother. Creator and director of the artistic and educational project Super Abuela, focused on the development of emotional intelligence, creativity and healthy habits in the family and school environment.
The mayor, David de Vera, declared “the importance of this type of actions, free and open to participation, for the learning and development of certain skills in communication, conflict resolution, self-care or self-esteem, being socially demanded issues”.
