The City Council of Puerto del Rosario wants to express its sincere congratulations to Club de Lucha Unión Tetir, for its brilliant classification to the grand final of the Tournament DISA Government of the Canary Islands Women 2024-2025.
This achievement represents a milestone for the majorero sport and, especially, for the female canarian wrestling, which continues to gain strength and visibility thanks to the effort, commitment and human and sporting quality of clubs like Union Tetir. The team has shown, throughout the season, an exemplary attitude, proudly defending the values of our native sport, and leaving the name of Fuerteventura and Puerto del Rosario at the top.
From the Municipal Corporation we want to highlight and thank the tireless work of the wrestlers, the coaching staff and the whole family that makes up the Club de Lucha Unión Tetir. Their dedication and dedication have been key to reach this historic final, in which they will face Club de Lucha Santa Rita, representative of the island of Gran Canaria.
This classification is not only a sporting triumph, but also a reflection of the growth and consolidation of women’s Canarian wrestling, an area that deserves all our institutional and social support.
The City Council of Puerto del Rosario will continue to support initiatives and projects that promote the development of traditional Canarian sport in all its categories, with special attention to the promotion of equality and female participation.
