On Tuesday afternoon, April 15, the exhibition “Brumas, Cabras, la Isla”, by the artist Alfonso S. Pachilín, was inaugurated in the Casa de la Cultura of Puerto del Rosario.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until May 13. With a vibrant, free and deeply emotional style, Pachilín presents a collection that evokes the soul of Fuerteventura through the magical fusion of mist, haze and goats, eternal icon of the island. The works, elaborated in watercolor technique, are born from a deep contemplation of the majorero landscape and transmit states of calm, presence and inner connection.

The exhibition invites you to enter a different Fuerteventura: the south of the island, wrapped in low clouds and crossed by guan goats that seem to emerge from a dreamlike dream. Pachilín’s paintings, many with an aesthetic of magical surrealism, reflect not only the essence of the landscape, but also an emotional journey that connects with the serenity and introspection of the viewer. Pachilín’s art allows us to look at Fuerteventura from another angle, more intimate, more spiritual.

This exhibition is a celebration of our identity, our landscapes and the emotions they arouse.

The mayor, David de Vera, declared that “we continue betting on the world of culture, in all its aspects, so that artists and audiences of all ages can show their art and participate in the cultural life of the municipality”.

From the Department of Culture, “we invite all neighbors, and art lovers in general, to enjoy this visual experience that reconnects us with the essential,” said Juan Manuel Verdugo, Councilman of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires.

The artist, who has recently exhibited with the AnimArte collective as part of the PERIPLO exhibition project, continues to consolidate his career both inside and outside the archipelago. His watercolors have represented the Canary Islands in international events like the Santa Marta Watercolor Triennial (Colombia) and the “Fabriano in acquarello” meeting held in Italy and the United States. Through transparency, color and visual poetry, Pachilín offers a unique look at the island he has inhabited for more than two decades.

In his words: “Each goat that appears in my works symbolizes the personal autonomy and intimate strength that we all carry inside. This exhibition is an invitation to contemplate, to breathe… and to feel”.

The Town Hall of Puerto del Rosario and on behalf of the artist himself, invites the population not to miss this exhibition that reminds us, through art, the silent beauty of our majorera land. The inaugural event has been an opportunity to share with the author his creative process and let yourself be enveloped by the mists of watercolor.

The exhibition will be open to the public from April 15 to May 13, Monday through Friday, from 10 am to 1 pm and from 5 to 8 pm, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy a visual proposal that invites reflection on identity, cultural mixing and travel as a transformative experience.
