Antigua hikers walk through the settlements and ravines from Guisguey to La Caldereta
The Antigua se Mueve hiking program fills its places in each proposed route.
– More than thirty hikers registered in the route proposed by the Antigua se Mueve program this weekend toured the landscape, history, ravines and settlements of Guisguey to La Caldereta.
– Each Antigua se Mueve Route organized by the Antigua Town Hall provides the hiker with transportation, the explanations of a guide along the way and a snack as a finishing touch to the meeting of the hikers.
This weekend, Antigua’s walkers once again filled the seats of the Antigua se Mueve program, traveling the fifth route proposed in the Antigua se Mueve program, from Guisguey to La Caldereta, with a guide who explained the history of settlements, the origin of agriculture and livestock in the area and moments in the history of the towns visited along the way.
The Antigua City Council from the departments of Youth and Sports, coordinated respectively by the councilors Pedro Armas and Samuel Torres, organizes this hiking activity, Antigua moves, proposing a plan of healthy walks of varying difficulty and for all ages, facilitating travel from Antigua, providing a team of guides explaining each step on the way, offering a final lunch to regain strength, explains the mayor, Matias Peña.
The following route is proposed at the end of September, departing from Antigua, going from Morro Janana to Agua de Bueyes, in a fourteen kilometer hike, whose geography presents a high difficulty to be covered in approximately five hours.
Registration, completely free of charge, for each proposed route is always open fifteen days in advance, and can be submitted by registering at the Antigua Town Hall, the Mayor’s Office in Caleta de Fuste or online, giving preference to those registered in the municipality.
