Antigua decides the Allegory of Carnival 2026 ‘Culture and Places of the World’.
– Carnival groups at the meeting convened by the Department of Festivities, decided to dedicate the next Carnival of Antigua 2026 to the Cultures and Places of the World.
After the meeting convened by the Antigua Town Council from the Department of Festivities with carnival groups and groups, to start preparations for the next Carnival 2026, it was decided, among other issues, the allegory that will motivate the decoration of stages, costumes of carnival groups and costumes of all participants.
The Allegory chosen by consensus of all participants in the meeting, says the councilman of Festivities, Pedro M. Armas Martin, is ‘Cultures and places of the World’, an allegory that undoubtedly allows a great diversity in designs, decorations, allowing a wide creativity to this new edition of the Carnival.
The mayor, Matías Peña, congratulates this choice of Carnival Allegory, chosen from eight themes proposed by the attendees. An Allegory of Carnival that I consider very successful, both for the wide possibilities it allows, and for reflecting our Municipality which is a reflection of diversity with more than fifty cultures living together in Antigua, towns and Caleta de Fuste, and adds the mayor, as well as confirms the identities, colors, richness and identities that exist in the world.
