An amusing and complete journey through the history of the town crier Juan Peña starts the Triquivijate Festivities.

The Fiestas of Triquivijate in honor of San Isidro Labrador and Santa Maria de La Cabeza began this Friday night with the proclamation by the well-known neighbor and parrandero musician, Juan Peña Cedrés.
The mayor, Matías Peña and the councilman of Festivities, Pedro Armas, thanked the town crier, his wife and the whole family of Peña Cedrés for their presence and commitment to the festivities of Triquivijate, of which the crier told more than one anecdote, as well as of his time in the military, which made the audience laugh and applaud a close and familiar audience with neighbors of the town and the Municipality.
The Fiestas de Triquivijate celebrate this Saturday afternoon, La Romería, being received in the main square of the village with Taifa dance and Verbena starring the rondalla of the Senior Center of Antigua, the own parranda Juan Peña, as well as Laly Lean and the group N’Klave.
The Fiestas continue with performances, masterclass, tournament and performances over the next week with a main weekend of verbenas and children’s parties.
