Aguas de Antigua tenders or formalizes five contracts in five months for 650,000 euros.
– The Municipality of Antigua is the majority shareholder of the mixed company Aguas de Antigua, participating in the management of the water supply in Caleta de Fuste and the coastal area of the Municipality.
– Aguas de Antigua is investing in the future and new technologies, implementing the smart remote reading system in 90% of its meters, reaching 100% by 2025.
The Empresa Mixta Aguas de Antigua has held the Board of Directors, chaired by the Mayor, Matías Peña García, this Tuesday, June 11, assessing among other points, the collaboration maintained with the CAAF in the water supply, as well as the latest tenders awarded or formalized during the current year, as well as the forecast of more investments that confirm the quality and commitment to the future of the company.
Aguas de Antigua is a dynamic company, in continuous renewal, always aiming to improve the water supply to residents and subscribers of Caleta de Fuste and coastal towns of the Municipality, says the mayor, as evidenced by having tendered, awarded or formalized in the first five months of the year 2025, five contracts for a total value of 650.188.62 euros, destined to the Remodeling of modules 3 and 4 of the Production Center for 249,708.62 euros, the Acquisition of a Backhoe Excavator for 93,000 euros, the Sludge and Waste Transport Service for 63,000 euros, the Cleaning of the Facilities of the integral water cycle for 160,000 euros and the Supply of Fuel awarded for 84,480 euros.
The Municipality of Antigua is the majority partner of the Empresa Mixta Aguas de Antigua, prioritizing the immediate intervention in any incident in the distribution network, which is in turn monitored for its location from the central office. In this sense, concludes the mayor, one of the objectives this year is to implement in 100% of the meters, the Smart Remote Reading system, installed to date in 87.55% of a total of 3,599 units.
