After six months of online training, students begin four weeks of living and studying in the English-speaking country.
A group of 25 young people from Fuerteventura learn English in Ireland, thanks to the language immersion scholarships of the Island Council. After a six-month online training on the island, the beneficiaries of the scholarships are already in the Anglo-Saxon country, where they will live an educational and cultural experience, which will allow them to practice the language in real contexts during the month of August.
The Councilor for Education, Adargoma Hernández, celebrated the passage to the international phase of the scholarship, an experience that will mark their academic and personal development. Hernández also recalled that the call for these scholarships responds to the Cabildo’s commitment to equal opportunities and quality language training for the Island’s youth.
During their stay, students between the ages of 15 and 16 will alternate English language improvement classes with cultural, sports and local volunteer activities designed to strengthen their comprehension and oral expression, as well as their autonomy and adaptability.
