The Cabildo of Fuerteventura makes available to olive growers the mill service for the production of olive oil. The insular Corporation, through the Experimental Farm of Pozo Negro, attached to the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, announces that the opening of the mill for the 2025 campaign will take place on August 4.
Interested parties should request an appointment in advance at the Pozo Negro Farm by calling 928 87 86 25, in order to plan the service properly. In this request, the farmer must be informed of the conditions of delivery of the olives, as well as the oil.
The president of the Cabildo, Lola Garcia, and the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Matias Peña, appreciate the effort made by olive growers and olive growers of Fuerteventura, which maintains year after year the excellence of a majorero product increasingly recognized inside and outside the island.
Olive delivery conditions:
– The information signed on the olive voucher must be truthful.
– The parcels will be identified with their SIGPAC reference (polygon, parcel and enclosure).
– The minimum lot to be received per farmer will be 100kg, determined by the recommendations of the mill machinery.
– Delivery shall be made in boxes or other (breathable) containers weighing no more than 20 kilograms.
– Olives should be delivered without leaves or apparent dirt.
– The safety period of authorized phytosanitary products shall be complied with.
– Batches of olives that have been treated with unauthorized phytosanitary products will be rejected.
– Batches of olives that have been treated with authorized phytosanitary products but do not comply with the permitted safety periods will be rejected.
