From September 2nd to September 25th at the Casa de la Cultura in Puerto del Rosario.
On the occasion of the Festival “A contracultura”, to be held during the first week of September, the City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Culture, invites Canary Island artists to exhibit their creations within the conceptual framework in which the Festival takes place. The exhibition aims at manifesting new forms of resistance through art, in which artists question the conventions related to identity, body, gender and nature, inscribing themselves in a tradition of subversion of the established canons, similar to the countercultural currents of the 60s and 70s, which promoted a radical revision of politics, identity and art, as well as trying to delve into utopia and resistance against orthodox conventionalism.
The artists will be able to cede their artistic creations until August 26, 2025 in the facilities of the Casa de la Cultura being object of return once the exhibition is finished unless it authorizes and formalizes the sale to individuals in the terms that the same one establishes.
The different modalities in which the works may be submitted are:
Photography
Painting
Ceramics
Sculpture
The work must include a review with title, author and brief explanation of the work. The maximum number of works exhibited will be 20 in strict chronological order of entry.
The Exhibition will be disclosed with express mention of the participants in the exhibition.
