Lola García and Nereida Calero gathered their requests with the aim of analyzing them and being able to include them in the PORN and the PRUG, within what is legally feasible and guaranteeing respect for the environment.
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has held a meeting with representatives of neighborhood associations Cofete in order to hear their claims regarding the settlement located in the Natural Park of Jandia, in the municipality of Pájara.
The island president, Lola García, and the Councilor for Territorial Planning, Nereida Calero, gathered their demands with the aim of analyzing them and being able to accommodate them in the management plans, always within what is legally feasible and with the utmost respect for the environment. The insular director of Territorial Planning was also present.
The Island Corporation is working on the elaboration of the Natural Resources Management Plan (PORN) and the Master Plan for Use and Management (PRUG) of the Jandía Natural Park, in order to have an updated planning. They will establish the management and specific regulations for this environment, in accordance with current legislation.
Currently, both documents are in the quality control phase by the Planning Service of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, according to Lola Garcia and Nereida Calero.
Both the president of the Cabildo and the island councilor expressed the Cabildo’s firm commitment to guarantee the respect and integration of those who have inhabited and cared for this territory for generations, as long as current legislation is complied with, while protecting the environmental values of the surroundings.
