The City Council will remodel Tagororor Park, Los Ganaderos Park and build an integrated center with an auditorium for 400 spectators and 196 parking spaces.
The project, with an investment of more than 15 million euros, is financed by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura.
The plenary session of the City Council of Pájara unanimously approves, at the proposal of the municipal government formed by the Socialist Party and Coalición Canaria, the work with the largest economic allocation of the last twenty years. The initiative has also had the support of the opposition groups.
The work has been awarded to the companies Tecnología de la Construcción y Obras Públicas (TECOPSA) and Obras Públicas Canarias (OPC) for an amount of more than 15 million euros, and will be financed by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura for an amount of 7 million euros.
The first deputy mayor and councilman of Works, Alexis Alonso, values this award as “a milestone in the planning and execution of public infrastructures in our municipality”. “We are talking about a comprehensive remodeling of Tagororor Park and Los Ganaderos Park, which will entail the construction of an Integrated Endowment Center that will house a library, other multifunctional spaces for training, a cafeteria, a kiosk and a modern assembly hall with capacity for 400 spectators. “, he underlines.
It also points out that “it will include the creation of green areas, outdoor leisure spaces and a subway parking lot with 196 parking spaces, significantly improving the urban infrastructure of the area”.
For his part, the mayor of Pájara, Alejandro Jorge, shows his satisfaction with the progress of a long-awaited project and that “is not only a demand of the people of Morro Jable, but also of the whole municipality”. “Having an auditorium will allow us to develop cultural events within the municipality itself, avoiding that our neighbors have to travel outside Pájara to enjoy such activities,” he adds.
The mayor also points out that “with these actions, the government group continues to fulfill the commitments made at the beginning of the current term, including the improvement of infrastructure and services in all localities of the municipality”.
