The City Council of Puerto del Rosario has launched the second edition of Puerto Joven, a meeting that from July 9 to 11 turns the Playa de Los Pozos into a meeting point for the youth of the municipality. With a varied program of sports, cultural and musical activities, the event seeks to energize the summer season and strengthen the union between young people, offering leisure and entertainment spaces designed by and for them.
During these days, participants can enjoy soccer and beach volleyball tournaments, performances by local artists and a great closing concert with international artist Liano, proposed by the young people of Puerto del Rosario. The initiative, organized by the Department of Youth, has the collaboration of different areas of the City Council and the support of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, demonstrating that working together is key to continue promoting proposals that respond to the demands of citizenship.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, stressed that “the spirit of Puerto Joven reflects our commitment to continue generating spaces of participation for our young people. This second edition shows that, when working hand in hand with the youth, we can create activities that not only energize our town in summer, but also promote the union and sense of belonging. I want to thank all the councils involved, the Cabildo and, above all, the young people who, with their enthusiasm, bring initiatives like this to life.”
For her part, the Councilor for Youth, Jenifer Perez, has pointed out that “Today we start this second edition of Puerto Joven with the illusion of seeing the large influx of young people who have wanted to participate not only in sports activities and competitions, but also in the preparation of shows and concerts. This event is becoming more and more rooted in Los Pozos Beach and in the summer, consolidating itself as a key event for our young people. We are grateful for the collaboration of other councils, the Cabildo and all those who make it possible for Puerto Joven to continue growing with a common goal: to energize the sports, cultural and leisure offer for the youth of Puerto del Rosario.”
The City Council invites all citizens to join and enjoy this meeting, which will be held until July 11 from 12:00 to 22:00 hours, reinforcing the commitment of the municipality with the creation of spaces that promote coexistence, creativity and youth participation.
