Reggae ambassadors Queen Omega & The Royals Souls win over audiences with their authenticity and energy
About 15,000 people gathered during the two nights of concerts at the festival Fuerteventura en Música. On Friday night there was a great atmosphere with the headliners G-5, supergroup composed of Kiko Veneno, Muchachito, El Canijo de Jerez, Diego Ratón and Tomasito, as well as performances by Rabiche, Natalia Doco, Calle Mambo and Lehmanns Brothers.
The music continued last night, Saturday, with performances by David el Majorero-ContraVentura, Roy Paci & Aretuska, Queen Omega & The Royals Souls, Baiuca and Kraak & Smaak. An eclectic line-up that reflected the essence of Fuerteventura in Music of combining cultures and music from different roots and styles, and that has so much depth among the festival audience.
The concerts began at 20.00 hours, with David El Majorero, who presented his project ContraVentura. A revolution of the sound of the timple and the contra majorera, fused with styles such as jazz, rock or funk.
The musical flavor of Sicily and the unmistakable style of musician Roy Paci also infected the FEM audience. With his band Aretuska, the singer, trumpeter and composer offered his personal sound that fuses Mediterranean roots with Latin rhythms such as samba and cumbia, as well as ska, reggae, R&B and jazz.
Next, it was the turn of another of the big names of WEF 2025: Queen Omega & The Royals Souls. An ambassador of Trinidadian reggae, Queen Omega captivated the audience with her authenticity and energy, as well as her vocal interpretations that combine reggae, Caribbean sounds, jazz and soul.
He was followed by Folktrónica de Baiuca, a pioneering project that fuses traditional Galician music with avant-garde electronics. A cultural and musical phenomenon that has become an international reference, and that made the FEM 2025 audience dance, in one of the most energetic and visual live performances of the night.
The FEM said goodbye for this year with Kraak & Smaak’s electronic party. From the Netherlands, they offered a dynamic show that covered all aspects of their music: from disco to house, soul and funk to indie electronica, with a rock attitude to top it all off.
The FEM 2025 featured Elisabeth Charlotte as presenter and music by DJ Carballeira. The daytime FEM program, in coordination with Asociación Cotillo Joven, gathered about 3,000 people in the village of El Cotillo.
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura thanks the coordination with the City Council of La Oliva, as well as public awareness regarding respect for the environment and the team that has made possible this edition of the festival Fuerteventura in Music.
