On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 18, the Socio-cultural Association “Animarte” opened at the House of Culture of Puerto del Rosario, “Historic Corners”: Fuerteventura through the Urban Sketchers, a group exhibition that captures the heritage soul of the island through the eyes of different local artists and creators of the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife), capturing the most emblematic landscapes and heritage of the island.
This initiative, promoted by AnimArte together with the Urban Sketchers collective of Fuerteventura, and subsidized by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, reflects the founding principles of the global Urban Sketchers movement: documenting “in situ” urban and rural life through drawings telling visual stories, to share them publicly.
The mayor, David de Vera, declared that “it is a satisfaction to be able to see these drawings of historical corners of Puerto del Rosario and other municipalities with an exceptional quality to enjoy the talent of all the authors”.
The Councilman of Culture, Juan Manuel Verdugo, said “to visit this fantastic exhibition of Animarte, where talent meets some really impressive landscapes of the island”.
The president of “AnimArte”,Luciano Colucci, “thanked all the participants for their involvement in the project with a satisfactory final result, encouraging the artists to continue with the promotion of culture”.
The exhibition will remain open until Tuesday, July 1, Monday through Friday from 10:00-13:00 h and 17:00-20:00 h, with free admission.
