The sport also lives in the summer of La Oliva. The municipality hosts its first paddle campus from 14 to 19 July for children, youth and adult clinic in the courts of the municipal pool of Corralejo. The City Council of La Oliva, through the Department of Sports, led by Gleiber Carreño, together with Mahox Experience, promote this modality among the new generations as well as adults during the summer season. In this sense, the participants will be able to enjoy classes to improve their technique and physical preparation, as well as different raffles, games for the little ones and many other surprises that will make this meeting a unique experience.
The aim is to encourage physical activity among the residents of the municipality, especially in the younger ones during the summer season, encourage interaction with other children while experiencing a day dedicated to sport with the best professionals in the sector. Thus, prominent personalities of this modality such as athletes Aday Santana, Tomás Díaz and Álvaro Morales, the national monitor Rubén García or the regional monitor Oscar Domínguez, will be in charge of teaching everything related to the world of paddle tennis to the attendees.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, points out the importance of continuing to promote physical activity among young people during the summer: “It is essential to promote sport among young people in the municipality also during the non-school months. Many of them enjoy the benefits of sport exclusively during the school year and, therefore, it becomes a priority to also encourage such activities also in the months of July and August”.
For her part, the Councilor for Sports, Gleiber Carreño, emphasizes: “From the City Council we will continue to support the promotion of sport in all its forms. For us it is a source of pride that there are more and more experiences related to different physical activities in our municipality and even more those that put the focus not only on adults, but also on our youth.”
