On May 3, the closing ceremony was held for the Escuelitas de Colores program, an initiative that for six months has worked with students from 1st to 6th grade of primary school in the municipality’s rural schools. During this period, a total of 39 students actively participated in various learning activities and games focused on the recognition and appreciation of diversity and prejudice.
Thanks to these activities, the children have acquired knowledge and skills related to understanding, tolerance and emotional practices that foster a healthy, safe relational climate based on equality, respect and tolerance. In addition, in collaboration with the participants, a manifesto was prepared and read in CEIP Tefía and in all the primary schools of the municipality, highlighting that all people have the same rights, that cultural differences enrich our society and that acceptance and tolerance are fundamental to build a fairer world.
The mayor, David de Vera, stated that “from the City Council, we thank all participants, teachers and families for their collaboration and commitment to the promotion of values that strengthen coexistence and respect in our community”.
The closing ceremony, held at the CEIP of Ampuyenta, was attended by the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Jenifer Pérez, who presented the diplomas to the students who are moving on to secondary school this year, recognizing their commitment and participation in this valuable initiative.
