On the occasion of the celebration of the traditional bonfires of San Juan and San Pedro in order to prevent any type of incident, the City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Festivities, makes public the following rules and recommendations to the public and, above all, to the promoters in the realization of the traditional bonfires.
Those interested in the realization of such bonfires must notify the City Council, Department of Festivities and Security and Emergencies, anticipating that in terms of application spaces for bonfires are strictly prohibited bonfires on beaches, bathing areas of the coast and protected natural areas. Any additional celebration or event on the contemplated lands will entail the necessary express authorization of classified activities.
The application must include the details of the person responsible for the bonfire, as well as contact information, and must remain in the vicinity of the application space during all phases of development from the beginning of the burning until its complete extinction, limiting the lighting of all types of fires before 20:00 hours on June 23rd.
The following communication process is established in connection with the application:
FIRST: A written request for the celebration of any bonfire must be notified through the Town Hall’s Registry of Entry, with a clear indication of the place, details of the person requesting it and telephone number, before Wednesday, June 18, 2025, so that the corresponding organizational measures may be adopted, and authorization shall be understood to have been granted if there is no express refusal.
SECOND: That the pile of materials that make up the bonfire may not exceed 4 meters in height and must have a safety perimeter of 6 meters with the ignition space.
THIRD: Flammable materials, elements of plastic composition, or any other type of waste whose combustion may lead to the emission of polluting, toxic or annoying gases, among which are tires, household appliances, sprays, or any other non-organic fuel that generates significant environmental damage and / or to the health of people
should not be used.
FOURTH: That the bonfire must be located at a minimum distance of 80 meters from any building, power line, installation of any type or vehicle, hospitals or public buildings, and must, if necessary, eliminate all types of combustibles or materials deposited in the surroundings that could facilitate the spread of the fire.
FIFTH: It is prohibited to place the bonfire on any type of urban pavement, whether asphalted, tiled, public landscaping or elements of the urban fabric.
SIXTH: If it is observed that the pile prepared for a certain bonfire does not comply with the safety measures proposed, the promoter or promoters of the same shall be informed of its withdrawal as soon as possible and, if this is done with municipal personnel, the corresponding expenses shall be passed on to the persons who promoted the bonfire, without prejudice to the corresponding sanction to the authors of the illegal bonfires that are held on the occasion of the celebration of the day of San Juan.
SEVENTH: That in case of any incident you should contact the Local Police of Puerto del Rosario, at the telephone number 928850635, with the Fire Department at the telephone number 928530744. In case of emergency you can use the usual emergency number 112.
