Antigua unanimously approves the Municipal Budgets for more than 20 million euros
The Budget allocates 2 million euros to street cleaning and waste collection
The new Municipal Budgets guarantee the Antigua Senior Citizens’ Trip 2025
– The Municipal Budgets prioritize the maintenance of public services, road cleaning and waste collection in Caleta de Fuste and towns.
– For the first time, Antigua’s budget includes an investment of 1,972,000 euros for street cleaning, waste collection and the cleaning contract for CEIP El Castillo.
The Antigua Town Council in a plenary session presided by Mayor Matías Peña García, has unanimously approved the Municipal Budget in the amount of 20,694,791.19 euros, experiencing an increase of 773,800.11 euros over the previous year.
A balanced Municipal Budget in which priority is given to maintaining and improving public services, highlighting in this chapter the increase of 300,000 euros for the new street cleaning contract which amounts to 700,000 euros and the increase of 120,000 euros in the waste collection item which increases to 1,175,000 euros. To which is added the cleaning contract for the CEIP El Castillo for an amount of 97,000 euros.
The economic item destined to health expenses is also increased, strengthening the sterilization campaigns, anti-rabies vaccination and sanitary surveillance. In Sports, the budget item is increased and the subsidy of 50,000 euros to the Unión Antigua wrestling club is maintained.
In the social area, 20,000 euros are allocated to new acquisition of articulated beds and other equipment to support individuals and families who need it, says the mayor, Matias Peña, maintaining, among others, the agreements with Asomasamen, AFFA and the Senior Center of Antigua, ensuring the more than deserved Senior Trip this year. Last but not least, concludes the mayor, the Antigua Town Hall expects to save 250,000 euros in electricity costs, having joined the FEMP’s Electricity Supply contract.
After public exhibition in the BOP Las Palmas and notice board of the official website, during the next fifteen days, the Municipal Budget of Antigua 2025, complying with the requirements and deadlines established by the regulatory law of Local Treasuries, will be considered finally approved.
