More than 60 boys and girls joined the initiative of the Town Hall of Pájara, making murals, graffiti and bracelets.
The Youth Department of the City Council of Pájara celebrated the Canary Islands Day with a series of workshops for young people from Costa Calma and Morro Jable, in which more than 60 boys and girls from the area participated. During the activity, they were able to design murals, create traditional paintings and make bracelets, in a participatory environment that put in value the identity and traditions of the archipelago.
The councilman of Youth, Juan José Viera, highlights the involvement of youth in the development of these activities. “One of the main objectives of this initiative was to integrate them in the celebrations of the Day of the Canary Islands and make them feel an active part of the commemoration of our culture,” he says.
He also stresses that “it is essential that the Consistory continues to promote activities related to our roots not only on special dates, but throughout the year. Initiatives like this help to strengthen among young people and their environment,” he adds.
The day took place in a dynamic and participative atmosphere, making clear the commitment of the Youth area to promote initiatives that respond to the interests and talents of the new generations.
