The City Council of La Oliva, through the Department of Social Services, led by Joana Perez Carreño, bet on the second edition of “Arte-exploradxs”. Hand in hand with DISA Foundation, the Consistory again create a space for creativity and exploration through the world of emotions. The Tamonante Day Center, managed by the municipal administration, seeks to use art as a tool for self-knowledge, expression and personal transformation. Thus, the cultural manager and educator Paula Montes de Oca Alda, is in charge of giving life to the initiative that aims to make the little ones of the Tamonante Center to travel through art.
In this sense, the aim is to discover, through the visual arts, the different countries of the world and their cultural expressions. In this new edition, entitled Art-explorers: Traveling through the world of emotions, the journey is inward, exploring the emotional universe of each participant through various currents of contemporary art. Throughout the program, which has already begun, the children work with references from avant-garde and contemporary artists to capture their emotions in works that help them better understand themselves and the world around them. From cubism and surrealism to abstract expressionism and urban art, each movement will serve as a gateway to introspection and limitless creativity.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, expresses the relevance of this project: “The success of the first edition confirms the importance of continuing to promote art as a tool to discover the world, emotions and the inner self of the participating children. Undoubtedly, it is essential to provide the little ones with a space in which they can express themselves freely while learning about the reality around them and through this project we see how this idea becomes tangible.”
For her part, the Councilor for Social Services, Joana Pérez Carreño, says: “This project not only reinforces the role of art as an engine for learning and personal growth, but also consolidates the Tamonante Day Center as an essential space in the care and development of children in La Oliva. Through artistic activities designed to strengthen self-esteem, confidence and emotional expression, children find in art a safe way to discover and value their identity.”
