The event will take place on May 29 and 30 in the towns of Morro Jable and Pájara, with folkloric performances and traditional costumes.

The City Council of Pájara invites citizens to enjoy two days of festivities on the occasion of the Day of the Canary Islands, on May 29 and 30, where tradition, popular music and community participation will be the central themes of the celebration.

The Councilor of Culture, Raquel Acosta, stresses that “Canarian culture is not only inherited, it is also lived and shared, and this type of meetings are essential to keep that essence alive. In addition, she adds that “we want citizens to feel an active part of this acceleration, so we invite all neighbors to participate, not only by bringing traditional dishes, but also by attending with typical costumes”.

For his part, the mayor of Pájara, Alejandro Jorge, invites the entire population to join these two festive days and points out that “these festivities are a unique opportunity to reconnect with our roots and share the best of our culture”.

The program starts on Wednesday, May 29, from 7:00 pm, in the Plaza de los Pescadores in Morro Jable, with the participation of folk groups A.F. Dunas de Corralejo, La Cebada, Los Mantequillas and La Polvajera.

The party will continue on Thursday, May 30, Canary Islands Day, from 12:00 pm, in the Plaza de Nuestra Señora de Regla, in the town of Pájara. The group El Golpito will be in charge of animating the day along with new performances by La Cebada and La Polvajera.

During both days, community spirit will be fostered through shared spaces, where citizens will be able to gather around common tables and taste typical dishes prepared by the attendees themselves. In addition, the celebration will have a traditional atmosphere, consolidating this festivity as a reflection of the cultural roots and the commitment of the municipality to its traditions.
