The Badminton raquetistas of Antigua are in congratulation
– Mayor and councilman congratulate the club Tiguaneje formed by important and outstanding number of raquetistas of Antigua.
– The Tiguaneje Badminton Club reaches the seventh position in the promotion phase.

The sport in Antigua continues to add titles and successes in the career of its athletes, says the Councillor for Sports, Samuel Torres, who recalls that the effort of our athletes always has the logistical and financial support from the City of Antigua. The Badminton school in Antigua is one of the longest running with a growing number of registrations and outstanding raquetistas in the island and regional championships, teaming up with the Badminton Club Tiguaneje, details the mayor Matias Peña.

The Tiguaneje Badminton Club has closed its participation in the final phase of promotion to First Bronze with a meritorious seventh position, after a competition marked by equality and the effort of all its members.

In the group stage, the team achieved a solid performance that allowed them to qualify in second place, after a tight and intense match against Poona, which was resolved by a 3-4 in favor of the rival team, eventually runner-up of the tournament. In their second match of the group, the team beat Las Torres by a hard-fought 4-3, thus certifying their access to the fight for the 5th to 8th places.

Already in the next round, the crossing against Albacete was resolved with a 0-4 against, which relegated the team to dispute the 7th place against Auria. In this last match, Club Badminton Tiguaneje showed its competitive character and commitment until the end, achieving a hard-fought 4-2 victory and thus closing its participation with a result that highlights the collective effort.

This result does not fully reflect all that has been experienced in the competition, but it makes it clear that this team has level, heart and a promising future.
