The City Council of Pájara welcomes the festivities of Nuestra Señora del Tanquito in El Cardón

The festival will take place from May 21 to 31 and will include sports activities, performances, religious events, children’s games and popular meals.

The City Council of Pájara, through the Department of Festivities, begins this afternoon to the expected festivities in honor of Our Lady of Tanquito, to be held in the village of El Cardón from today until May 31. The opening day will start with the decoration of the village, children’s games and an exciting treasure hunt.

The councilman of Festivities, Juan José Viera, stresses that the festivities have been designed to encourage the participation of all neighbors and encourage popular traditions with an inclusive and family approach. “We have turned to make each day special and allow us to share unforgettable moments,” he says.

For his part, the mayor of Pájara, Alejandro Jorge, stresses that the festivities of El Cardón are “a living example of our identity and the union of our people. They are a reflection of the collective effort and the affection we feel for our roots. We invite everyone to join in and enjoy each of the activities that have been prepared with great enthusiasm,” he says.

The program will feature a wide variety of activities aimed at all ages, including inflatables, children’s entertainment, truco tournament, popular meals, soccer tournament, educational workshops, verbenas and much more. One of the highlights will be the ninth edition of the Tanquito Runner’s race to be held this Saturday. This sporting event will bring together runners of different ages and levels, with different modalities designed to promote the sport.

To close the celebrations, the traditional pilgrimage will be held on Saturday, May 31, starting at 9:00 am. Preparations will begin on Friday 30 at 16:00 hours. That same Saturday, at 15:00 hours, will take place the verbena that will put the finishing touch to the festivities.

The City Council of Pájara invites neighbors of all ages to participate in the various activities scheduled and enjoy the festivities of the patron saint of El Cardón.
