The City Council of La Oliva continues with the binomial of the departments of Tourism and Environment, led by David Fajardo, to promote the care of the natural environment in the municipality. Under the slogan ‘La Oliva Environmental Attitude’, the Administration maintains its commitment to nature awareness through the labeling of the fleet of the Taxi Cooperative of the municipality. Thus, the new tourist logo is accompanied by a QR that redirects users to the ‘Decalogue of Good Environmental Practices’ in several languages, responding directly to the strategy followed by the joint work of both councils. The ultimate goal is to provide not only a homogeneous image of cabs in the municipality, but also to continue with the dissemination of the environmental message, a premise on which we have been working since the beginning of the legislature.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, emphasizes: “This action maintains our commitment to care for the environment. We are aware that the only possible tourism model is one that takes into account that the island and, in particular, our municipality, is not a place where visitors are passing through, but it is our home. Through this small gesture we are adding forces to remember again and again that taking care of our natural environment is not an option, it is an obligation.”
For his part, the Councillor for Tourism and Environment, David Fajardo, said: “We want to thank the Taxi Cooperative of La Oliva for agreeing to the efforts of Tourism and Environment to make possible the promotion of the ‘Decalogue of Good Environmental Practices’. In this sense, not only tourists, but also any user of cabs in the municipality can directly access the document through the QR located on the side of all vehicles in the fleet. What is intended with this action is to exploit to infinity all channels of communication and dissemination for awareness with our environment, providing tips to ensure the care of our natural spaces.”
“We know that no matter how much is done it will always be little, so we will continue working so that any small opportunity like this will serve to further advertise our strategy and get all those who come to enjoy Fuerteventura are very clear that we are a destination to take care of.” added Fajardo.
